March 19, 2013 – More Migrants and a new bath tub

New migrant birds since last post include Costa’s Hummingbird, Rufous Hummingbird and Lawrence’s Goldfinch.  All three species showed up at my feeders.

A new public bath tub has been installed.  The old one was removed just a couple of days ago.  This is real progress.

It will be interesting to see how long this new tub lasts.

The lake sports two Snowy Egrets and one Great Egret.  The Ring-necked Ducks seem to have moved on.  One Harris’ hawk flew overhead in late morning.

More than fifty Tricolored Blackbirds at my feeder this morning. The adult male Bullock’s Oriole was at my hummingbird feeder today.  He seems to prefer the sugar water to the orange halves or grape jelly I left out for him.  Several Lark Sparrows grazing under my feeders with the White-crowneds.
