Friday afternoon just after arriving at my house Trent Stanley spotted a Eastern Phoebe at my water feature.  This is a another in a string of very good yard birds.  We did not see either the evening grosbeak which has been regular since December 4 or the red-crossbills that were seen by several birders since March 26.  But there were seven orioles and two black-headed grosbeaks along with several Lawrence’s goldfinches, pine siskins and the freeloading tricolored blackbirds.

Saturday morning we ventured out to Kitchen Creek where we found a pair of Gray Vireos.
